Description | A cast lead zoomorphic figurine in the shape of a stylized fish. This creature could also be a dolphin or a porpoise. The creature has a well defined head and mouth. Its tail is formed from two lobes. There is no obvious form of attachment on the creature, but the base of the head and the base of the tail appear to be flattened indicating that this object may have been stood up. The moulded lead retains some detail as a fin can be seen running down the creature.s spine. The lead is a mid greyish-white colour. It could be Roman in date (PAS). |
