| 2500bc-14/1300bc | A round barrow covering a cist west of centre, comprising 4 slabs and a coverstone all covered by a stone cairn. The cist held some calcined bones and charcoal, some pottery and a miniature polished greenstone axe, possibly votive. At the centre of the barrow was a small pit dug into the old ground surface. This contained a compact mass of cremated bone belonging to a (possibly) female child c10. This was assumed contemporary with the cist which may also have contained the cremation of a possibly female child c10. There was no barrow ditch. |
