| 2500bc-14/1300bc | A ditchless bowl barrow. Immediately south west of the barrow centre a cremation had taken place in situ as a red and black scorched area showed (1.8m x 2.4m). A few fragments of cremated bone remained in the thin layer. A central robbing hole had been dug down to the natural chalk. The barrow had been much disturbed by more recent animal burials, and even earlier incursions. |
