| 2500bc-14/1300bc | A round barrow and ditch, with under a small central cairn of flints a deposit of burnt bones 'packed with the layers of the bark of a tree'. On this were the remains of a grooved bronze dagger and a rivet. About 0.9m away was a handled shale cup wedged in a recess in the cairn, and contemporary. A ring of free-standing small chert boulders had been set up on the outer lip of the ditch. [Kirwan E]. |
