| 2500bc-14/1300bc | A ring cairn constructed around a natural earth-fast boulder. There was a central pit filled with burnt material, presumed contemporary (Feature 177), 1m south of the boulder. It had a sandy loam fill with increasing charcoal content towards the base. There was no capstone. Other features of the cairn included a refilled pit, and linear mounds, but no date could be established for these. There was no cremated human skeletal material, although soil conditions were favourable. RC: HAR-2216 1570 +/- 70 |
