| 2500bc-14/1300bc | Stone built round barrow with inner and outer retaining walls. Just east of the centre was a paved stone cist 1.2m x 0.9m oriented E/W containing a primary deposit of 2 crouched skeletons, one with head to the SW, of an adult male and a younger adult female. There were no grave goods. Their skulls of were mesaticephalic (Neolithic/Beaker hybrids?). Some earlier disturbance had occurred. The barrow was constructed like Burn Ground long barrow (Site 20). |
