| 2500bc-14/1300bc | A bell barrow covering a pit just off centre dug through the old turf line, 0.9m wide x 0.9m deep, and bottle shaped in section. An adult female cremation and the ashes were poured into the pit, turf filling the remaining space and chalk upcast being returned to make a chalk cairn cap. A second pit to the south west was filled with mixed earth, chalk and turf. There were discarded antler picks in the ditch fill. |
