| 2500bc-14/1300bc | A bell barrow with on its floor a primary inhumation of a very tall stout male, on its right side, head to SE. At the feet were a perforated stone axe, a slightly flanged bronze axe, a bone tube, a bone handle, a grooved whetstone and a boar's tusk, and an item of twisted bronze of stirrup shape (thought to be a 'standard', Thomas 1954, 326-330). The bone tube may be from a human long bone and may originally have had a side hole at one end. |
