| 3500bc - 2500bc | Long barrow with side ditches, oriented SE. At the east end was a pit covered and filled with flints but not explored to the bottom, and just west of this a dolichocephalic skeleton, probably articulated. An inner mound of black soil overlay these, chalk rubble covering the whole. These features were observed by an eye-witness to the barrow's destruction to make a rifle range in 1940. |
