| 14/1300bc-8/700bc | A bowl barrow with a primary cremation of one adult c30 or less contained in an upright sub-biconical shaped urn supported by stones which had been placed in a small oval shaped pit near the centre of a burnt area (the pyre site?). There was some cremated bone in the pit. The pit was sealed by a horizontal stone slab surrounded by a square shaped emplacement of burnt stone. Over this was a loose stone cairn, and the covering mound comprised brown sandy soil. Some food vessel sherds were on the old land surface of the barrow floor. There was no ditch. |
