| 2500bc-14/1300bc | An EW line of 8 urned and 2 possible unurned cremations running along a ridge. Most urns had been inserted into shallow pits, 4 urns were inverted, one had contained a small cup and another a second miniature vessel, and all had contained cremated bone. The urns belonged to the Middle Bronze Age cordoned type of the lower Thames, with a variety of shapes (biconical, straight, ovoid, bucket). Of the identifiable cremations, 5 were of adults. The line was possibly part of a more extensive cemetery. RC: HAR-9141 1390 +/- 60 |
