Description | POST-MEDIEVAL PIPE TAMPER. Simple figure with no real modelling; smooth unfeatured head; outstretched right arm, once held lyre. On small base (Pitts p50). Could this be the pipe-tamper? No other figure in the museum fits the simple description and it is the right size. |
