| Description | A stylised cast copper-alloy figurine holding a sack of grain and possibly dressed in a toga or animal skin. It has similarities to the Roman Goddess Ceres and may be a votive offering. The figure has lost its feet and legs (if it ever had any) and may be of Iron Age or Roman date (PAS). Is it really a sack of grain? Could it be a purse and thus be Mercury? |
